"I loved the laid back structure. I loved the self-reflection that was built into the weekend. I loved that leadership thought/planned ahead of time to separate the big group into smaller groups. I will recommend this experience to everyone I know!"

"I liked spending time with other empowered women and taking the downtime with myself."

Trekkers will stay at cozy Cadence Lodge in Wilmington, NY. Minutes from downtown Lake Placid and many of the hiking trails, Cadence will be an ideal place to call "home" for our trek.
Trekkers will be paired up to share rooms. Roommate requests will be accommodated to the best of our ability.
All cooking, cleaning, set-up and clean-up is handled by Cadence and Empower staff allowing you to relax and enjoy the calming energy of the Adirondack Mountains.
Our hike will launch from the Adirondack Mountain Club LOJ. We will hike in groups of four and your group will become your trail family - you stick together for every trail challenge and triumph!
In 2019, Team Algonquin and Team Big Moose paved the way for future Empower Trekkers by hiking Phelps Mountain. The 32nd highest peak in New York, both teams summited the mountain at 4,160' and successfully conquered the "misery mile" which is a very challenging, steep mile to reach the summit.
The hike for our 2020 Trek will be announced in early 2020!
Trekkers will be responsible for their own travel to the Adirondacks. Carpooling is encouraged!
The Cadence Lodge is located approximately six hours from Buffalo at 5704 NY-86, Wilmington, NY 12997.
